One of our greatest priorities is ensuring that all of our students arrive safely to school each and every day. We will be using an absence reporting system called SafeArrival that allows parents to report their child’s absence quickly and conveniently. This system reduces the time it takes to verify student attendance and makes it easy for staff to respond quickly to unexplained student absences.
With SafeArrival, you are asked to report your child’s absence in advance (before morning bell time) using one of these three convenient methods:
- Call the automated interactive telephone system via the toll-free number 1-866-879-1041 to report an absence.
- Use the SafeArrival website, https://go.schoolmessenger.ca. The first time you use the website, select Sign Up to create your account using your email address. Select Attendance to Report an Absence.
- Using your mobile device, download and install the SchoolMessenger app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store (or by using the links on the Safe Arrival website https://go.schoolmessenger.ca). Use your new login information to access your account. Select Attendance to report an absence.
These options are available 24 hours/day, 7 days a week. Future absences can be reported at any time.
If you miss the 8:15 AM deadline, do not call the school but wait until the SafeArrival System contacts you to excuse the absence or late. Listen to the entire message all the way to the end. If you do not, SafeArrival will continue to call you.
Please do not contact the school directly to report an absence.
